2014 was a decent year for us PC gamers. Games like Hearthstone, Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Dark Souls 2 and Shadow of Mordor have kept us busy (and they still do), but now that 2015 is almost upon us we must look forward to the games that are about to be released. Here comes a short list of a few of the most anticipated games of 2015:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Ever since its announcement in 2013, I’ve been extremely hyped about this game. The first two Witcher games were true masterpieces of the RPG genre, and the Witcher 3 promises even more. Unfortunately, the release date has been delayed and now, the Witcher 3 will be launched on 19 May 2015, when for the first time, Geralt of Rivia will be playable into an open-world map with tons of content to be discovered.
The PC version of GTA V has been one of our most intense desires since it got released on consoles. The time will finally come in 2015 for us PC gamers to play GTA V, and it will be better than ever, since the console gamers were kind enough to test it for us. GTA V will be released on January 27.
Batman: Arkham Knight
Our beloved superhero will have his skill and his cunning mind tested once again. Super villains like Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn will be united under the Scarecrow with one purpose: to destroy the Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight will be released on June 2nd, bringing an epic finale to the great series that is Batman: Arkham.
As used as we can be with Dota 2, League of Legends, Smite and the other MOBA games we already have, one does not simply overlook Blizzard’s contribution to the MOBA genre. Heroes of the Storm will combine heroes from the previous Blizzard games (Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo). Therefore we can have epic battles between Raynor, Tyrael and Illidan, for example.
Another Blizzard game, Overwatch has been announced this year at Blizzcon and it looks like a good competition for the popular Team Fortress 2, but in a 6v6 set up with twelve different classes. The release date has not been announced, but the beta phase will begin in 2014.
Evolve is one of those games that are just damn cool. Developed by the creators of Left 4 Dead, Evolve is a competitive co-op multiplayer shooter, played in 4v1 matches. Did I say 4v1? Yes, in Evolve you can be in the hunter team, and join forces with 3 other players, or face all four of them as a fierce Monster with savage abilities.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is an upcoming open world third-person RPG shooter, in a post-apocalyptic New York. The United States will collapse under a mysterious disease that spreads through banknotes germs, starting on Black Friday. The Division is a unit of tactical agents trained to operate independently of command, and you are one of them.
