TSM, the first PGL CCS champions

After three days of spectacular matches between the the top four best CS:GO teams in the world, Team SoloMid came out on top as the first winner of the PGL CS:GO Championship Series, defeating Fnatic in the final.

The PGL CCS Kick-off Season came to an end on Sunday evening, after the LAN finals consisting of six matches hosted on the PGL stage at the Polyvalent Hall during DreamHack Bucharest 2015 (April 24 – 26). Fnatic, Team SoloMid, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team Envy competed against each other for the championship title, but it was the Danes that took home the trophy after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas and Fnatic.

One of the main differences between the Grand Final and the previous matches was that a Best-of-Five (BO5) system would be utilized, as opposed to the BO3 system used before, one where TSM started out with a one map advantage.

The first map of the series was quickly claimed by TSM with a 16-11 score. But Fnatic fought back and evened things out by winning the second one, also with 16-11. In the third matchup, TSM took the lead and almost brought everything to an end, when all of the sudden Fnatic began winning round after round. However, it took just one mistake on Fnatic’s part and TSM settled things for good after an intense 1 vs 1 situation, thus claiming the $40.000 and the title of champions of the PGL CS:GO Championship Series Kick-off Season.
